•monroe-river•

Monroe WA family photo session location

This is what I love about this location-

There are trees around which allows us to start our session a bit earlier. We can get the pretty filtered light, without waiting for true golden hour. This is helpful for those that have children with an early bedtime.

In the fall the leaves are beautiful. In the summer there are wild flowers.

There are walking trails, tall grasses, driftwood, large rocks and of course the river. Every spot is a quick walk.

There may be people around, but it has never felt crowded.

The parking lot is very close to our destination.

•snohomish-old barn property•

Snohomish WA family photo session location

Okay….I call this an old barn property because there used to be a barn. Unfortunatly, it collapsed a couple years ago, and now I can’t think of what else to call it. :)

This is what I love about this location-

This property is privately owned, so we will have the whole place to ourselves.

It’s a great spot for a larger family and perfect for kids to run around a bit.

There are rustic fences, tall grasses, fields and and a couple cool old sheds.

The lighting is beautiful and we can start earlier that the traditional golden hour as the sun goes behind the trees.

This is a popular place for dog walkers, It’s not the best place if your child is afraid of dogs.

There are tall grasses that are green in the summer months and tan in the fall.

There may be people around, but it has never felt crowded. There is room for everybody.

The parking lot is very close to our destination.

•downtown everett•

Everett WA family photo session location

This is what I love about this location-

If you love the feel of an urban look then this is a good one for you.

There is some walking involved as we move from one spot to the next. However, it is fun to walk and stop to take photos as we go.

It’s a great option when the ground is wet and muddy. The urban sidewalks will be a dry alternative.

The old buildings, alley ways and buildings make a for a cool backdrop.

This type of a location lends itself more to an life style themed session.

Even though we are in the city we can still get connected and emotion filled images.

Parking is close by.

•woodinville-field•

Woodinville WA family photo session location

The sun looks beautiful filtered through the trees.

There is lots of space to move about.

The tall tan grasses and trees make a pretty backdrop.

It’s perfect for a large or extended family session.

There may be others around as it’s a popular spot for photographers, but there is plenty of room to move about.

•granite falls-big four ice caves•

Granite Falls family photo session location

Let me preface by saying- We don’t walk all the way to the ice caves. But the areas on the way are photo worthy.

This is what I love about this location-

This spot is a bit of a drive, it is an hour from Everett, but it’s worth it.

The mountain backdrop speaks for itself. Aside from the obvious, there are pretty walking bridges, a river and all the beauty you’d expect.

The field with mountain views are right next to the parking lot. The river is a 10 minute walk. But we can take pictures as we go, there are so many great places to photograph.

Your kids will enjoy the process, as it feels like an adventure.

***There is an additional $75.00 fee for travel***

•discovery park•

Discovery Park, Seattle WA family photo session location

This is what I love about this location-

I don’t even have to sell this spot. If you’ve been there or seen pictures of this park before you know It’s beautiful. with the fields, the view and water. It’s a very popular place for photographers and righfully so.

The drawback for those that don’t live in the Seattle area is that it’s a trek to get there. Some are tuned off by that fact alone. Since we will be shooting about an hour to an hour and a half before sunset, you can expect traffic.

But, it’s beautiful and your kids will enjoy the space to move about.

There is a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the location, so keep that in mind.

**Because of the travel distance there is a $100.00 travel fee to go there**

•the beach•

Everett WA family photo session location

This is what I love about this location-

Well, do i even have to sell it? aside from the fact that there is no denying the beauty of the beach. The sand, the driftwood, the water and if we’re lucky, the sunsets. On a beautiful day in the PNW, it doesn’t get much better than being at the beach.

I don’t think that I need to push hard for this location, however it’s not for everyone. In the summer on a sunny day, there is no option other than to do the shoot at golden hour. The sun is too harsh to start any earlier, and this may be hard for families with young children. But if you can keep them up, it’s worth the sacrifice.

If you dare to let the kids play in the water at the end of the session, I’m sure they will be thrilled, and we can grab some fun playful water shots.

If you choose this location once the weather has turned, be sure to dress for the elements. Even on a sunny day it can be quite chilly. The positive side to an off season beach shoot is that the sun sets earlier, or it may not be out at all. This gives us more options as far as session timing goes.

There is more walking from the parking lot to the location, so keep that in mind.

•what about an in-home session•

In home family photo session

This is what I love about in home sessions-

For some families this just makes sense. Maybe you have just welcomed a new baby into the family, you have a new home, or you simply love the look. In home sessions are special and intimate.

The backdrop is your own home, your space, the place you feel the most comfortable. The emphasis is on emotion and connection.

It’s a simple option for a family. We don’t need much space, but we do need some good window light. (We can talk more about this, if you choose this style of shoot).

Most in home sessions begin around 10:00 am.
