a bit about Kathleen

Hello, thanks for stopping by, I’m so glad you’re here!

I have been thinking about starting a blog for a long time, and here I am, finally doing it!

I thought it would be nice to share a bit about myself and a bit about my feelings in regards to photography.

So here you go-

I grew up in New Hampshire, married when I was 19. We have 5 kids, and 8 grands that call me Grammy, a name that I don’t feel old enough to possess, but one I love hearing just the same.  We have a full life and believe me, I know we are truly blessed.

I can’t really pinpoint a time when I was hit with the photography bug.  For as long as I can remember I have had an appreciation for it. I was drawn to others work and had a desire to create something beautiful myself. I took pictures of my kids through the years and knew that I had an eye for it, but no understanding of my camera, no understanding of light.

My friends would ask me to photograph their own families, I was flattered and I did it because I loved it. But deep down I felt as though I wasn’t worthy.

Eventually, I decided it was time to make a change, I began taking online classes, learning all that I could from photographers that I admire. I mastered my camera so that I could execute my vision and I photographed everyone and anyone that was willing to get in front of my lens. I grew as a photographer and my confidence grew too.

I shot weddings, families, seniors, birthday parties, you name it I was shooting it. In time I decided to stop going in so many different directions, and I began focusing on one thing- family photography. It’s my jam, it is what makes my creative side sing, it is what brings me the most joy and where I am in my element.

And the rest, so they say my friends, is history…

This is us, doing our once a year, hurry up, squeeze everyone in and take 100 images to get just one decent shot. moment. It’s not easy!
