Why you should include the grandparents in your family photo session

Grandparents hold a special place in the family story —

When I was little I thought my grandparents were old. Wonderful, but old. The way they dressed, how they did their hair and how they acted. I didn’t give it much thought. I was deeply loved by them and that’s all that mattered.

When I look back at photos from my childhood I realize that they weren’t that old at all. It was just the times, the style and how my childlike mind viewed them.

I don’t have as many photos of my grandparents as I wish I did. But this I know, the ones I do have of them are cherished, especially if I am in them as well.

One day your favorite photos won’t just be the ones of your kids-they might just be the ones of your kids with their grandparents.

Capturing multigenerational photos is a love letter to your children

Including grandparents in photos is about more than just preserving their presence—these are the photos that you will want to hold onto forever.

We all know that time goes by fast. The kids grow quickly, we grow older and our parents age as well. As that happens we know that the memories become even more cherished.

A seemingly simple capture from today can easily become a favorite heirloom in the future.

The grandparents and the kids share a special bond

Capturing the way they play, the way they laugh togehter and the way they connect is uniquely special.

The gentle and nurturing love that grandparents provide is like no other.

The kids probably don’t realize how special it is now, but someday they will. Having photos will remind them of the close bond they shared and how thier grandparents looked when they were young.

Multigenerational photos just ooze love

Grandparent photos aren’t about the right clothes, the perfect day or even the best location. They are all about connection. The way the kids fit in their arms, the way they hug and love each other and how the kids feel safe in their presence. There’s no need to strive for perfection here. Capturing their bond is where it’s at.

This is the reason to capture love and let go of perfection.
